From book signings and bookshop tours to a podcast recording in Mayfair, here’s a look at what’s been happening at Midas this week:
Dino Dad Ice Age tour with Andy Day and Steven Lenton
We’ve been on tour again this week with Andy Day to promote his new book Dino Dad: Ice Age. On Thursday, we visited Booka and Linghams Bookshops for signing events with Andy and illustrator Steven Lenton, where fans could get books signed, a photo taken and see Steven’s incredible hand-painted window in each shop. On Friday we all headed to York for a ‘Meet Dino Dad’ event at York Theatre Royal, where Look North interviewed Andy before the show to be broadcast on the evening news.
Bookshop Tours of Britain by Louise Boland
Now in its fourth edition, Bookshop Tours of Britain features 20 bookshop tours, from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands. Louise Boland’s Bookshop Tours of Britain is a slow-travel guide to Britain, navigating bookshop to bookshop. Based on Louise’s own tour and extensive bookshop knowledge, this long awaited fourth edition includes over 60 new bookshops and new tours for readers to explore!
Spooning with Mark Wogan Podcast
Ant Middleton was on Mark Wogan’s podcast to promote his book #MilitaryMindset, recorded at the UK’s most coveted foodie hotspot Mount Street Restaurant in Mayfair. Mark Wogan greets each guest with a bespoke menu, custom-made for each guest. The podcast goes out on Virgin Radio and is promoted on Talk, Times Radio and talkSPORT on the day of release.
Book Lover Spotlight: @queennads
Bookshop.org’s initiative ‘Book Lover Spotlight’ shines on a different individual every two weeks to curate and post their favourite books.
